Edward John Ramirez-Cruz, 57, of Lake Placid went to be with his Lord on Sunday evening October 6, 2013 at his residence. He was born on December 5, 1955 in Guanica, Puerto Rico to parents Ana (Fernandez) and Raul Ramirez. He was raised in Waterbury, Conn. And was a graduate of Crosby High School. He served his country in the US Army. He moved to Lake Placid 2 1/2 years ago from Homestead, FL where he retired from Bellsouth/ATT with 33 years of service as a frame attendant. Edward was a member of the CWA, Telephone Pioneers, Moose Lodge and he was of the Catholic faith. Edward enjoyed classic cars especially high performance Mustangs, working on his computer, avid fan of the Boston Red Sox's and the Miami Dolphins and loved spending time with his family and friends. Edward is survived by his loving wife, Amy; daughter, Ashley; son John and grandson, Kal; mother, Ana Fernandez; brother, Harold Ramirez; sister, Maggie Ramirez; mother-in-law, Julie Thompson (Mama Ulee); father-in-law Sonny Alansky (Papa Sonny) and Shirley; sister-in-law, Laura King and nephews, nieces and friends. He also leaves behind his four legged family, his cats Rosey, Sophie, Nick and Tanner and his German Shepherd puppy Layla. Edward is preceded in death by his father Raul and brother, Allen Ramirez. Services to celebrate Edward's life will be held at a later date.
