He was a long-time resident of Lake Placid, moving here from Boynton Beach, FL to continue his father's dream in the business of growing indoor tropical plants. Ed had recently retired from a lifetime of working in the family business. He had many hobbies that he didn't get to enjoy enough. From racing his 1968 Camaro to waterskiing, riding his Harley, working in his garage, watching EVERY NASCAR race and working with his cows. He cherished the time he spent camping with his family more than anything. Ed was reunited with his parents, Jacob and Maria, who preceded him in leaving this life. He is survived by his loving wife, Pamela Koornneef, whom he loved more than life itself. His daughters: Maria Quinones (Quintin); Holly Cameron (Joshua). His sons: Jason Koornneef (Bridget); Jacob Koornneef along with 13 grandchildren who he absolutely adored. He is also survived by his sister: Marian Gilde (Randy)and his brother: William Koornneef.
