Edward R. Heater "Rudy", 84, of Lake Placid went to be with his Lord on Friday evening September 30, 2011 surrounded by his family at the Balmoral Assisted Living. He was born on February 19, 1927 in Gary, Indiana to parents Edward and Cora Alice (Vines) Heater. Mr. Heater served his country in the US Army during WWII. A retired loan officer in the mortgage industry, he moved to Lake Placid in 1992 from Chesterton, Indiana. Rudy was a member of the Lake Placid Moose Lodge 2374, Lake Placid Elks Lodge 2661, American Legion Placid Post 25 and the St. James Catholic Church. Mr. Heater enjoyed a good golf game and loved spending time with his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Angela, sons; Kevin (Jody), Jeff, and Bradley (Janice) Heater, four grandchildren and one great grandson, brothers; Dennis and Don Spangler. A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Mr. Heater's life will be held 11:00 AM Saturday November 12, 2011 at the St. James Catholic Church 3380 Placid View Drive Lake Placid with Father Michael Cannon celebrating.
