Eduardo Andres Saumell, 69, of Lake Placid, FL went home to be with his Lord on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at his residence. Eduardo was born on January 13, 1957, in Oriente, Cuba and he was the son of Deisy (Baro) and Eduardo Saumell. He served his country with honors in the United States Army 82nd Airbourne where he received several badges and metals. Eduardo has been a resident of Lake Placid for the past 9 years, moving here from Miami, FL. He was a process server in the legal profession. Eduardo a Catholic by faith who attended St. James Catholic Church in Lake Placid. He enjoyed traveling the country with his wife, reading a great novel, following his favorite TV shows and was an avid sports fan. Eduardo oved to be with family and friends whenever they could get together, especially spending time with his grandchildren. Eduardo is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Mercedes, daughters; Emilia, Natacha, sons; Jonathan, Jeffery, Jeremy, Jordi, 14 grandchildren, two sisters and a brother. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will take place later at St. James Catholic Church. Military honors will be provided by the United Sates Army Honor Guard and VFW Post 4300 Honor Guard.
