Edith G. Dixon, 90, of Avon Park, went to be with her Lord on Monday morning June 8, 2015 at the Lake Placid Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was the daughter of Lucy Whitt and Doc H. Gravitt, who was born on June 14, 1924 in Halifax County, VA. She moved to Highlands County in 1964 from Lynchburg, VA and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Avon Park. She was married to Harvey L. Dixon, Sr. for 56 years until his death in April 2002. Mrs. Dixon loved spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by her loving children, Lisa Dixon-Bogolub (Karl), Allan D. Dixon (Kathy), Kenneth G. Dixon and Harvey L. "Lucky" Dixon, Jr.; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services and burial will take place in Shady Grove, VA.
