IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Duane Carl
Neiderman
July 12, 1931 – July 20, 2021
Duane Carl Neiderman, 90, of Lake Placid passed away on Tuesday evening, July 20, 2021 at the Good Shepherd Hospice House in Sebring, Florida. Duane was born on July 12, 1931 in Mason City, Iowa and was the son of Leona (Schultz) and Carl Neiderman. Duane has been a resident of Lake Placid for the past 29 years, moving here from Boca Raton, FL. He was a retired planning and zoning supervisor with Highlands County. Duane was one of Jehovah's Witnesses, and as such he devoted his life to teaching others about the truth found in the Bible. As a young man he sought answers to life's big questions. Questions such as: Why are we here, what is our purpose and why is there so much suffering? Many questions came from what he saw while serving in the Air Force during the Korean War. He traveled the world seeking answers to these questions, visiting many places of spiritual and literary insight. He was highly educated, with degrees from Iowa University, Harvard, and Berkeley, yet his questions still went unanswered. A man with a 6 th grade education then offered him a Bible Study. He decided to give it a try. Finally! He found his answers! From that day forward he shared this Bible hope with all he came in contact with. He even did this full time whenever he could as he cared for his large family materially and spiritually. Duane was an avid reader who enjoyed his large library of books. He also enjoyed painting, drawing and doing landscaping. He loved to be with his family and friends and took any opportunity to gather together with them. He will be remembered as the gentleman he always was. He stood when you approached, and was always polite and patient. He believed that everything you did had your name on it and reflected on Jehovah God's name. He would quote Colossians 3:23, 24; "Whatever you are doing, work at it whole-souled as for Jehovah, and not for men, for you know that it is from Jehovah you will receive the inheritance and the reward. Slave for the Master, Christ." Jesus was his favorite example of behavior and he taught his children to imitate Jesus from infancy. We look forward to the day we will embrace him in our arms again in the earthly resurrection. This planet has lost a true treasure, but only for a little while. He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Ruth Burdette and brother, Charles Neiderman. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Charlotte, daughters; Elizabeth Morris (Andrew), Rebekah Vega (Lalo), sons; David, Michael (Angelena) and Jonathan Neiderman, along with 13 grandchildren, Jaymon Caauwe, Serenity Neiderman, Jessie Vega, Isabella Vega, Jacob Vega, Joanna Vega, Madison Neiderman, Matthias Williams, Makenna Williams, Malachi Neiderman, Adam Thompson and Jaelynn Neiderman
