Doris Jane Durrance, 88, of Lake Placid went to be with her Lord on Saturday evening April 6, 2013 at the Lake Placid Health Care Center. She was born on June 29, 1924 in New York to parents Viola and Fred VonLangen. She moved to Lake Placid in 1985 from Tavernier, FL and was a member of the St. Francis of Assisi Anglican Episcopal Church in Lake Placid. She was the co-founder with Bill Baxter of the Marker 88 Restaurant in the Florida Keys. Doris enjoyed painting, and was well known for her art work in Ellijay, GA where was a part-time resident and loved spending time with her family and friends. Mrs. Durrance is survived by her loving daughter, Kaye Joyce; granddaughter, Veronica Ganoe; step-sons, William, Richard and Andrew Baxter step-daughter Carol Baxter many nieces and nephews.
