Lorida, Florida Donald Bruce Taylor (78) Son of Everett E Taylor and Marion (Cook) Taylor, born February 26, 1947 in Syracuse NY, died at home of natural causes July 18, 2025.
He is survived by son, Donald Taylor of New Jersey; a sister Kathleen Lord (Bill) of Maine, Her children Michael and Katelyn; sister-in-law Noreen Taylor (Everett II) of Florida, their children Everett Taylor III, Michelle Dague (David), Elizabeth Tresp (Brian) and Jason Taylor (Hillary); as well as their children, his nieces and nephews all over the country.
Don was raised in Marcellus NY and Ridgewood NJ then attended the University of Hartford for a year before serving in the US army. Afterwards he became a bank manager in Vernon, NJ and then Kearney, NJ. He developed computer skills that helped advance banking operations and ultimately developed his own computer software systems and company. His programs helped improve the operations of engineering and medical offices and other businesses. He had clients from Maine, to New Jersey, to Florida and was highly respected for his skills.
Don was a talented piano and keyboard player. He took lessons for years when he was young and played in a number of bands into his thirties and forties, always loving music. He was an avid reader of science fiction and had an extensive library to include authors like Isaac Asimov and Ray Bradbury. He had quite the imagination and was always planning trips and drives out west. He took his nephew to Japan, and his sister to Rome and then on a Mediterranean cruise. Always thinking about what he'd like to do next. He usually had a dog as a companion, sometimes up to three of them. He didn't have a healthy heart, but even with all of the medical problems he endured that didn't hold him back from living life on his terms.
Do will be missed very much by his family and friends.
Don was predeceased by his parents, and his older brother Everett Taylor II.
He requested to be buried next to his parents and family in Camillus, NY. Burial will take place in the fall.
