Donald Thomas McDaniel, 75, of Lake Placid went to be with his Lord on Tuesday afternoon August 18, 2015. Donald was the son of Cornelia Blount and James B. McDaniel, who was born on October 22, 1939 in Ft. Myers, Florida. Donald was a retired truck driver and cabinet maker. He moved to Lake Placid from Ft. Myers in 2005 and was of the Baptist Faith. Donald never knew a stranger, he enjoyed talking, and visiting with people, hunting turkey and spending a day out on the water fishing. Donald loved to be with his loving family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years Evelyn; daughter, Melanie Boswell; sons, Kenneth and Darcy McDaniel; seven grandchildren, Erich (Letha Ann) Messer, Joshua (Kendra) Messer, Travis Messer, Austin McDaniel, Michael McDaniel, Chyanne McDaniel and Kenneth Jr McDaniel; one great-granddaughter Zenobia Messer; and a sister, Martha Carter. A service to celebrate Donald's life will be held 3:00 PM, on Saturday, September 22, 2015 at the Faith Missionary Baptist Church 1708 LaGrange Avenue, Sebring, FL with Pastor Kenneth Lambert celebrating.
