Donald A. Burke, 82, of Lake Placid, FL went to be with his Lord on Sunday evening, September 20, 2015 at Balmoral Assisted Living. Mr. Burke served his country proudly and with honors during the Korean War in the U.S. Army. As a younger man, Don enjoyed horses and he owned several Harley motorcycles. Don worked in sales, trucking and retired from the Collier County Sheriff's Department as a deputy. After retirement, Don moved to Lake Placid and enjoyed spending time with family and friends and his loyal dog, Teddy. He is preceded in death by his Grandparents, "Grandma and Grandpa Klapp"; Birth Mother, Clois and Father, Aurthur (Virginia) Burke; and his long time partner, Elaine Fuller. He is survived by his sons, Daryl Burke, Cris (Katie) Stoneburner, David (Suzanne) Stoneburner ; daughter, Valerie Burke; stepdaughters, Karen Stoneburner, Judy Bice and Jan Hudson; sisters, Sandra Stermer and Linda Tholl; brother, Mike (Carl) Burke; several Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren; Elaine's children, Chris (Mark) Leduc, Brad (Flo) Fuller and Marcia Fuller; and caregiver and loving friend, Janet Wages. A service to celebrate Donald's life will be held in the Spring in Michigan.
