Dennis Mihalick, 73, passed away on April 1, 2026, in Lake Placid, Florida. Dennis was born in Youngstown, Ohio, April 7, 1952. Dennis grew up and lived in Fort Lauderdale, Florida until moving to Lake Placid in 2002.

A skilled cabinetmaker, Dennis owned and operated his own cabinet shop for many years. His passion for creating fine furniture and custom cabinetry was evident in the exceptional quality of his work. His artistry and meticulous attention to detail left a lasting impression on those who admired his creations.

In his younger years, Dennis enjoyed water skiing and boating. Dennis always loved “rock and roll” music, especially “The Who”, so began learning how to play the drums the last few years of his life which brought him great joy and some frustration… After all Dennis was a perfectionist.

Dennis was predeceased by his father, Donald Mihalick; his mother, Irene Mihalick; and his sister, Joyce Mihalick. Despite these losses, he remained devoted to family and cared deeply for those around him. He lovingly supported his mother until her passing and offered kindness and strength to others during challenging times.

He is survived by Shela Ellis, his beloved partner of 41 years. Their enduring bond was one of deep affection and mutual support. Shela fondly remembers Dennis as a good son, brother, and soulmate who stood by those he cared about when they needed him most.

Dennis’s big heart touched many lives. Those who knew him will remember not only his craftsmanship, his sense of humor, but also the compassion he showed during life’s most difficult moments. May his legacy of love and kindness continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him.
