David Allan Cooke, 86, of Lake Placid, FL passed away Wednesday afternoon January 25, 2012 at the Balmoral Assistant Living in Lake Placid. He was born on February 18, 1925 in Charlestown, Massachusetts to parents Thomas and Frances (Murphy) Cooke. Mr. Cooke served his country during WWII in the United States Coast Guard retiring with 23 years of service. After retiring With the U.S. Coast Guard Mr. Cooke served as a security guard with Eastern Airlines for eighteen years. He moved to Lake Placid three years ago from Davie to be closer to his family. Mr. Cooke is preceded in death by his wife of 52 years Margaret and is survived by his loving son Brian, grandchildren; Shawn and Korey, sister; Mrs. Marilyn Cull and a brother James "Bud" Cooke. Private services for Mr. Cooke were held.
