David Thomas Boyd, 68, died on May 22, 2012, at his home in Sebring, FL. He was born on March 3, 1944, in St. Joseph, Missouri and moved to Lake Placid, FL with his family in 1948. David retired after 20 years from the United States Air Force in 1982 and served in the Vietnam War. He was a member of the American Legion Placid Post 25 and the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 2259 and was of the Christian faith. Mr. Boyd is preceded in death by his parents, Earl Jones and Angeline (Wilson) Boyd and his brother Earl Jones "EJ" Boyd. He is survived by his loving daughters, Kathy Clements and Deborah Griffis (Jeremy) both of Sebring; his brother, Donald Boyd (Shirley) of Lake Placid, sister, Shirley Uthe (Marvin) of three grandchildren, Cameron Clements, Amanda Griffis and Kane Griffis; and dear friends, Doug Tuck and Gloria Emigh. Dad, we loved you so much and will miss you! A visitation for family and friends will be held Friday, May 25, 2012 from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the Scott Funeral Home, 504 W. Interlake Blvd., Lake Placid. Graveside services and inurnments will be held 10:00 AM Saturday June 2, 2012 at the Oak Hill Cemetery with Military Honors by the VFW Post 4300 Honor Guard.
