Danny Bass was born March 15, 1980, in Avon Park, Florida, and was a lifelong resident of Lake Placid. On April 29, 2025, Danny passed away surrounded by his loving family.

After complications at birth, Danny was given only a few short months to live. God had other plans, and Danny was given 45 years to share his love, spirit, and wonderful personality with countless individuals. In addition to deeply loving those around him, Danny loved country music, especially Dolly Parton, watching classic game shows, reruns of Hee Haw, and old comedy shows. Danny was a founding member of Miracle League Baseball, and also loved bowling, bingo and visiting with friends. He enjoyed attending community events and looked forward to seeing people he knew with great anticipation. His love for his family was deep and in spite of his own personal struggles with health, he always cared most for those around him. In high school Danny was a member of SGA, Interact, and was also involved with Special Olympics and Special Stars.

Though many individuals worked with Danny over the years to help and support him, in truth, it was Danny that made everyone better for knowing him. His heart was as big as his personality. Danny loved and was loved, and will be missed immensely.

Having fought the good fight for many years, on April 29 it was time for this brave man to rest, and Heaven gained a faithful and courageous soul.

Danny was preceded in death by his daddy Raymond Bass Sr., Grandma & Granddaddy Lilian & Irving Hartsfield, his papa Dean Hickey, and his cousin Josh.

Danny is survived by his mother Saundra Bass, brother Raymond Bass Jr. (Nikki), grandmother Dicia Hickey Prescott, and nieces Madison and Lacey.

Funeral services will be Monday, May 5th at 3:30 PM at South Oak Baptist Church in Lake Placid. Family will receive visitors from 2:30-3:30. PM. To honor Danny those attending are encouraged to wear his favorite color, green, or purple representing Miracle League.
