Dale R. McConkey, 84, of Lake Placid passed away Friday morning November 5, 2010 at the Florida Hospital Lake Placid. Mr. McConkey was born on June 18, 1926 in Monticello, IL to parents John and Pearl (Longworth) McConkey. He served his country in the US Navy during WWII. He is a retired electrician belonging to the IBEW 601, American Legion in Monticello and was of the Christian faith. Dale has been a winter resident in Lake Placid for the past 12 years. Mr. McConkey enjoyed being with his family and friends, camping and the outdoors. Dale will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Mr. McConkey is survived by his loving wife, Nancy; sons, Richard Buck, Douglas, Randy, Jeff, John and Blake McConkey; 12 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and a brother Bill McConkey.
