Dale Edward Forney, 76, of Lake Placid went home to be with his Lord on Wednesday evening October 11, 2017. Dale was the son of Homer and Geraldine Shaud Forney and was born on August 22, 1941 in Hershey, PA. After completing college, Dale went to work with the Miami Dade County Public School System for 36 years as a physical education instructor. He moved his family to Lake Placid from Miami in 1994, where he made the commute back and forth until his retirement years later. He was an avid sports fan, when in his school years, he could be found on the track running or at the pool swimming. Later in life, Dale enjoyed a good crossword puzzle, tinkering around the house and gardening. He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Carol, daughters; Colette, Chris and Tish, sons; Casey and Edward, six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a brother; Robert T. Forney. A service to celebrate Dale's life will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday (Today), October 14, 2017 at the Scott Funeral Home 504 W. Interlake Blvd. with Rev. Richard Norris officiating.
