Corrine Susan Baumgartner, 78, of Lake Placid went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at the Lawnwood Medical Center in St. Lucie, FL.   Corrine was born on March 29, 1942 in Houghton , Michigan.  She has been a resident of Lake Placid for eight years, moving here from Michigan where she was a retired school teacher and an owner of an elder care business.  Corrine was an avid reader, who enjoyed a great novel, collecting turtle figurines, knitting and crocheting, fishing the local lakes, growing her roses and spending time with her cat "Kitty Girl".  Corrine attended the Church of Christ Lake Placid.  She is survived by her loving children; Susan Nichols, Edward, Watson and Paul Jr. Baumgartner, several grandchildren and a very dear friend and care giver Phillip Steinmetz.  A service to celebrate Corrine's life will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at the Scott Funeral Home 504 W. Interlake Blvd., Lake Placid  with Preacher's Don Smith and Frank Parker officiating.  A gathering of family and friends will take place one hour prior to service time.  Burial will follow at the Lakeview Memorial Gardens in Avon Park.
