Conrad H. Gribenas, 81, of Lake Placid passed away Monday morning August 9, 2010 at his residences surrounded by his family. Mr. Gribenas was born on January 19, 1929 in Detroit, Michigan to parents Boleslaw and Sophia (Chargot) Gribenas. He served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Gribenas moved to Lake Placid in 1996 after retiring as a machinist in the computer industry in Michigan. A life member of both the Lake Placid VFW Post 3880 and the American Legion Placid Post 25, and was of the Christian faith. Mr. Gribenas is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Helen, daughters; Christine and Linda, sons; Paul, Richard and Fred, 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren and faithful friend Fuzzy. Private services were held for the family.
