Clifford H. Avery, 79, of Lake Placid passed away Sunday evening at the Tampa General Hospital. He was born on January 17, 1930 in Belmont, Mass. He moved to Lake Placid in Dec. 1998 from Astoria, NY. Mr. Avery was a member of the Lake Placid Elks Lodge 2661, Lake Placid Moose Lodge 2374 and St. James Catholic Church. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 52 years Lillian Avery and son, William Avery and is survived by daughters Patricia Avery, Kathy Seymour, Maureen Weinberg all from Ronkonkoma, NY and Irene Kurras of Old Hickory, TN., sons; Vince Avery of Lake Placid and Cliff M. Avery of Flushing, NY., 15 Grandchildren, 15 Great Grandchildren and 3 Great-Great Grandchildren, sister; Evelyn Fallon, brother; Walter Avery of North Adams, MA., and special companion Patricia Maynard. The family will receive friends Tuesday (Today) November 10, 2009 at the Scott Funeral Home from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM with Elk Services at 5:30 PM and a Pray Service to follow with Father Michael Cannon Officiating.
