Obituary
Clarenda Russell, 99, of Lake Placid, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday morning, April 26, 2016 at the Lake Placid Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Clarenda was the daughter of Lonnie Hartman and Rance Whitfield, and was born on July 20, 1916 in Slidell, Louisiana. A resident of Lake Placid for the past five years, she moved here from Slidell, where she was a member of the Red Hatter Society. Mrs. Russell was of the Methodist faith. Mrs. Russell enjoyed spending time at her church teaching quilting and crocheting. She always loved to be with her family and friends.
Mrs. Russell is preceded in death by her loving husband, Captain M. L. "Jack" Russell; daughter, Louise; sister, Kathleen; and brother Alonza. She is survived by her loving son, Leroy and his wife, Marlita and granddaughter, Sarah Steele.
Per her request, private services were held for the family. Condolences may be shared with the family through this online guestbook.
