Obituary

Charlotte Murray Keen, 96, of Lake Placid went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at Tampa General Hospital. Charlotte was native Floridan who was born in Princeton on April 22, 1928. She was the daughter of Lenore (Burry) and James Murray. Charlotte served her country with honors in the United States Air Force from 1950 to 1954 serving at Chanute and Park Air Force Bases as a parachute rigger. She went on to work in the Department of Defense retiring after more than 35 years of as a support services specialist at Andrews, Pope, Wiesbaden and Homestead AFBs. Charlotte has been a resident of the Lake Placid area since 1996, moving here from Cutler Bay, FL. Charlotte was a member of the Church of The Nazarene Lake Placid, and the American Legion. She enjoyed traveling and loved to spend time with her family and friends when every they could get together. Charlotte is preceded in death by her loving husband, Philip L. Keen and she is survived by her loving children; Brenda Keen, Robert Keen; beloved daughter-in-law Gladys (Pinto); grandchildren; Ashley and Michael. She is also survived by her sister Ruth Williams; nieces; Stefanie Keen, Barbara Keen and Constance Bowman. A service to celebrate Charlotte's life will be held 11:00 AM, March 25, 2025 at the Church of the Nazarene 512 W. Interlake Blvd. with Pastor Tim Taylor officiating. Military honors will be presented by the United States Air Force Honor Guard and the VFW Post 4300 Honor Guard. Charlotte will be buried next to her husband Philip at the South Florida VA National Cemetery, Lake Worth, FL
