IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Charles "Charlie"
Wayne Wyerman
November 24, 1930 – November 16, 2020
Charles Wayne Wyerman, 89, of Lake Placid, FL, formerly of Altoona, PA, went home to be with his Lord on Monday November 16, 2020 at his residence. Charles was born on November 24, 1930 in Altoona, PA and was the son of Charles L. and Georgianna (Barnes) Wyerman. After graduation from Hollidaysburg H.S. in 1948 Charlie joined the U.S. Navy and served his country on submarines for four years. A new SKF ball bearing manufacturing facility hired him when he returned home. Charlie worked his way from the production line into a supervisory position and was the plant machining superintendent when he retired after 30 years of service. Early retirement opened up new opportunities. He traded in his golf shoes and clubs for pruning shears, ladders, shovels and hoes when he moved to the home of his dreams on Oak Avenue. Caring for a small apple orchard and a vegetable garden and riding his Gravely mower over the hills filled Charlie with joy......he was a simple man. Charlie loved to sit quietly on the porch and watch his large family and many friends enjoy this paradise that he nurtured as a labor of love for their enjoyment. And when it got cold he drove off to Florida for the winter. Charlie is preceded in death by a sister Shirley Shiffler, his son Kenneth Wyerman and grandson Jordan Miller and stepdaughter Elizabeth Ann Diehl. He is survived by his loving wife of forty four years, Carol, three daughters: Wendy Stom, Laurie Miller, Faith Diehl, two stepdaughters: Ruth Grissom, Dorothy Mitchell, 19 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and a new great, great granddaughter, Madilynn, the family's one bright ray of sunshine in 2020. In keeping with Charlie's wishes services to celebrate his life will be held in the springtime of 2021 in PA.
