Charles David Boyer "Dave" 89, of Lake Placid, FL went home to be with his Lord on Monday December 15, 2025, at the HCA Florida Highlands Hospital in Sebring. Dave was born on July 28, 1936, in Chicago, Illinois and he was the son of Clara (Durham) and George Boyer. Dave served his country with honors in the United States Navy. He then went to work with the local phone company in Chicago as an installer. He moved to Pembroke Pines, Florida where he went to work with Bell South and retired after many years of service as a project manager. Dave was also a reserve officer with the Florida Fresh Water Game Commission. Dave has been a resident of Lake Placid for the past 30 years, moving here from Pembroke Pines. He was of the Lutheran faith and a member of the American Legion Placid Post 25, VFW Post 3880, Lake Placid Elks Lodge and the Lake Placid Moose Lodge. Dave enjoyed being on his airboat, boating and fishing the local lakes, hunting and his dogs. He is preceded in death by his brother, Robert Boyer. Dave is survived by the love of his life of 68 years Joan, daughters, Betty Moore (Wayde) and Kimberly Prague, four grandchildren, Cody, Austin, Laura and Landon and two great-grandchildren, Royce and Valerie. A funeral service to celebrate Dave's life will be held at 2PM, Friday, December 19, 2025, at the Scott Funeral Home 504 W. Interlake Blvd., Lake Placid with Pastor Richard Norris officiating. Military honors will be presented by the United States Navy Honor Guard. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. Burial will follow at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Lake Placid.
