Carol Ann Rauch, 79, of Wimauma, FL, formally of Lake Placid, FL went home to be with her Lord on Friday, August 7, 2026, at the HCA Florida South Shore Hospital in Sun City Center. Carol was born on February 12, 1947, in Blackshear, Georgia and she was the daughter of Jessie Lou (Strickland) and Sherman William Austin. Carol had been a resident of Lake Placid for 22 years, moving here from Wimauma, then moving back 3 years ago to be with her daughter. Carol was a retired bookkeeper with Kmart working in the Sebring store. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Wimauma. Carol was an avid reader who enjoyed a great novel, working puzzles, going to the movies and trying out the local restaurants. She loved to be with her family and friends whenever they could get together. Carol is preceded in death by her loving husband of 32 years James, and she is survived by her loving children, Tracy Annette Bronson (Stephen), James Allan Rauch, three grandchildren; Amber Eve, Ashley Nicole, Tiffany Paige, two great-grandchildren; Ethan Tyler, Lailani Kai, a sister; Kathleen Nowak and a brother; Bill Austin and many extended family members. Carol will be laid to rest with her husband at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Lake Placid, FL.
