Carol A. Collins, 72, of Lake Placid went to be with her Lord on Thursday Morning July 12, 2012 at Hope Hospice in Sebring. She was born on December 29, 1939 in Polo, Illinois to parents Augusta and Malon Johnson. Mrs. Collins moved to Lake Placid in 1994 from Rockford, IL after retiring as a legal secretary. Mrs. Collins enjoyed working with ceramics winning a first place ribbon at a arts and crafts fair and loved spending time with family and friends. She was a thirty year member of the Women of the Moose and was an active member at the Lake Placid Moose Lodge 2374 and was of the Christian Faith. Mrs. Collins is survived by her loving daughter, Kathleen Collins; 2 grandchildren, Cassidy Haas and Aaron Paris; a great granddaughter, Makalya Carol Haas, and 2 brothers, Laverne and Marvin Johnson. A service to celebrate Mrs. Collins life will be held 2:00 PM Saturday (today) July 14, 2012 at the Scott Funeral Home 504 W. Interlake Blvd., Lake Placid with Pastor Wayne Godwin celebrating.
