Carl J. Arbogast, 91, of Lake Placid went home to be with his Lord on Wednesday morning, August 16, 2017 at the Vitas Hospice in Sebring. Carl was to son of Clara Vance and Earl Arbogast, who was born on January 14, 1926 in Roaring Creek, West Virginia. After graduating from Bridgewater High School, Carl enlisted and served his country with honors in the US Navy during WWII. Carl was a retired truck driver who enjoyed his travels. Carl and his wife Bonnie moved to Lake Placid in 1991 from North Palm Beach, FL. Carl was a member of the American Legion Placid Post 25, Lake Placid VFW Post 3880 and the Memorial United Methodist Church in Lake Placid. Carl enjoyed many outdoor activities including being out on the water fishing. He loved to be with his family and friends especially his grand and great-grandchildren. Carl is preceded id death by both his parents and his brother Bruce Arbogast. Carl is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Bonnie, daughter; Donna Hiscock, son: Don Arbogast, 4 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, sisters; Olive Arbogast and Catherine Heatwole and brothers; Wade Arbogast and Harold Arbogast. A service with military honors provided by the US Navy Honor Guard will be held at a later date at the Sarasota National Cemetery in Sarasota, FL.
