IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Billy Eugene
Johnson
November 28, 1938 – December 1, 2020
Billy Eugene Johnson, 82, of Lake Placid went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Billy was born in Madison County, Indiana on November 28, 1938. He graduated from Alexandria High School in 1957. He served his country with honors in the U.S. Army Reserve. He retired from the Delco Remy division of General Motors with 36 years of seniority. Billy was a resident of Lake Placid, FL for the past 10 years, however he spent most of his life in Indiana (in Alexandria, Lapel, and Anderson). Billy was an active member at the Church of the Nazarene in Lake Placid. He enjoyed many hobbies and pastimes such as woodworking, building birdhouses, working on crossword puzzles, fishing the local lakes, target shooting, playing cards, and watching westerns. Billy got pleasure in spending time in nature and adored animals of all kinds. Billy especially loved spending time with his family and his friends. He leaves behind a legacy of having a compassionate heart, praying for others, testifying about God, and faithfully studying the Bible. He will be greatly missed! Billy is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Mary (Scott); his children, Pamela Johnson of Lapel, Timothy Johnson (wife Mandy) of Anderson, and LeAndra Young (husband Kevin) of Zionsville; grandchildren, Shari Young (husband Michael), Desiree Reeves (husband Travis), Danielle Zakka (husband Daniel), Reid Hosier, Dakota Young, and Koen Hosier; and great-granddaughter, Arista Young. He is also survived by his sister, Wilma Chambers (husband Jay) and several nieces and nephews. Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Verland and Rosabell (Logan) Johnson. In keeping Billy's wishes, a service to celebrate his life will be held privately for his family now. A celebration of life service will be held in Indiana next summer, details will be forthcoming.
