Betty Ruth Carter, 87, of Lake Placid went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, in Ocala, FL. Betty was born on February 10, 1937, in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee and was the daughter of Sion Edward Lambert and Lora (Young). Betty has been a resident of Florida since February 20, 1979, moving from Hahira, Georgia. She was of the Christian Faith. Betty enjoyed painting, cooking, and talking. Betty loved to be with her family and friends anytime they could get together, especially time with her grand, great-grand and great-great-grandchildren. Betty is preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years Aulie "AT" Carter, daughter in law; Sandra Carter and son in law; Kenny Williams. She is survived by her loving children, Ronnie Carter, Becki Williams, Cindy Mercer (Lee), Keith Carter (Julie) and eight grandchildren; Ron, Jason, Heather, Kristopher, Kevin, Travis, Mikayla, Lily, seven great-grandchildren; Austin, Kaleb, Miranda, Caden, Ava, Karson, Arianna, and a great-great-granddaughter; Graysan. A service to celebrate Betty's life will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at the Scott Funeral Home 504 W. Interlake Blvd., Lake Placid with Pastor Dustin Woods officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. Betty will be laid to rest next to her husband at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Lake Placid.
