Mrs. Betty Jane Solomon Begeal, age 86, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday night, January 14, 2015 in Lake Placid, Florida. Betty was born in Towanda, Pa. on October 5, 1928 to the loving parents; the late Leonard Henry Solomon and Lucy Mae Beeman Solomon. She attended Eastside Christian Church and was a member of Spring Lake United Methodist Church in Sebring. Betty was a Registered Nurse in New York and Florida for more than 30 years. Helping others was her passion and dedicated her life doing so. She worked in New York at the Binghamton State Psychiatric Hospital and with Florida Home Health. She was active in the CSEA union. In her spare time, she enjoyed golf, sewing, crocheting, knitting, and playing the organ. She loved helping others and donated her time and efforts to many charitable causes such as unwed mothers and the elderly. Betty was preceded in death by her husband Hugh Willard Begeal and two children, Brenda and John. Betty is survived by three daughters and a son, Mrs. Deborah Bottiger (Joel), Mrs. Merry Kerns (Matt), Joy Libby, and Mr. Edward Begeal (Brenda); six grandchildren; three great grandchildren, and her brother, Mr. Leonard Solomon Jr. (Florence). Also surviving are many other family members and friends. Memorial service celebrating Betty's life will be conducted on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at 4 pm at Spring Lake United Methodist Church 8170 Cozumel Lane Sebring, FL. Visitation with family and friends will be held after the service. Inurnment will follow at the family's convenience in Venus Fl.
