Betty Elizabeth Barlaug, 88, of Port Charlotte, formally of Lake Placid, FL went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, August 2, 2026, at her residence. Betty was a native Floridian who was born on July 8, 1938, in Bonifay. She was the daughter of Mellie (Singeltary) and Hozie G. Worley. Betty had been a resident of Lake Placid for most of her life, then moved to Port Charlotte to be close to her family several years ago. She was a retired manager with Southland Corporation (7-11 stores). Betty was of the Christian faith who enjoyed going to church, family events, and loved Christmas time of the year. She loved to be with family and friends anytime they could get together, especially time her grand and great- grandchildren. Betty is survived by her loving children, Teresa Kelly, Daryl Barlaug, and Gregory Barlaug, 8 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. A graveside service to celebrate Betty’s life will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 8, 2026, at the Oak Hill Cemetery with Pastor Eric Burch officiating.
