Betty Jean Adams, 89, of Lake Placid went home to be with her Lord on Sunday evening August 27, 2017 at the Good Shepherd Hospice House in Sebring. Betty, born July 2, 1928, in Cumberland, KY was the daughter of Maggie and Finley Huff. She attended Pine Mountain Settlement School in Pine Mountain, KY. She has been a resident of Lake Placid for the past 15 years. She and her husband Edward traveled around the country in a motor home for several years visiting 49 states. Betty enjoyed walking, gardening, listening to music and the performing arts. She loved to be with family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Betty attended First Presbyterian Church Lake Placid and most recently attended services held at the Covered Bridge Clubhouse. She is survived by her husband, Edward, daughter: Robin Thomforde, sons: Robert and Evan Nichols, 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. A service to celebrate Betty's life will be held at the Covered Bridge Club House at a date to be determined later.
