Barbara Doke Bruce, 85, of Lake Placid died Thursday, September 15, 2011 at the Lake Placid Health Care Center. Born in Plant City, FL, she had been a resident of Lake Placid for the past 22 years, coming from Palm Beach Gardens in 1988. She was a member of the Lake Placid Memorial United Methodist Church and the Lake Placid Woman's club. She was also a charter member of the Palm Beach Gardens Woman's Club. Mrs. Bruce is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Chris Bruce. Graveside services celebrating Mrs. Bruce's life will be held 11 AM Tuesday September 20, 2011 at the Royal Palm Memorial Gardens at 5601 Greenwood Avenue, West Palm Beach with Pastor Fred Ball celebrating. A memorial service will be held at the Memorial United Methodist Church, Lake Placid at a later date.
