Astley L. Tyson, 91, of Lake Placid went home to be with his Lord on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at The Commons Nursing Home in Orlando. Astley was born on October 10, 1933, in St. James, Jamaica. He has been a resident of the Lake Placid area for the past 31 years, moving here from Miami. He was self-employed until retirement. Astley was a member of First Baptist Church of Placid Lakes and enjoyed working outside gardening. He loved to be with his family and friends anytime they could get together. He is preceded by death by his wife Cecille of 56 years and his two sons Jimmy and Raymond Tyson and is survived by his children Debbie Hyrne, Gary Tyson, Sandra Tyson and his four grandchildren Kristen Ford, Shane Saffran, Clarke Hyrne and Matthew Hyrne. A viewing will be held at 10:00AM followed by a service to celebrate Astley's life at 11:00AM, Saturday, October 4, 2025, at the First Baptist Church of Placid Lakes 116 Cleveland Avenue NE, Lake Placid with Pastor Jeff Taylor officiating.
