Arthur W. Hoglander, 82, of Lake Placid went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at the Good Shepherd Hospice House in Sebring.  Arthur was born on April 11, 1940, in Staten Island, New York and was the son of Erna Schwoebl i and Harry L. Hoglander.  Arthur served his country with honors in the United States Navy during the Cuban Missile Crisis.  He was the owner and operator of Rick's Cycle Center in New Jersey.  After retiring he moved to Lake Placid where he has been a resident for the past 12 years.  Arthur was of the Christian faith and was a member of the VFW, American Legion Placid Post 25, Lake Placid Elks Lodge, and the Lake Placid Moose Club.  Arthur enjoyed riding motorcycle s , a great round of golf , hunting and just being outdoors.  He love d to be with family and friends anytime they could get together, especially time with his children and grandchild ren .  Arthur is survived by his two loving sons; Scott and wife, Linda and Mark and wife Virginia , two grandsons; Brian and Kyle . C ompanion; Roberta Coleman, two brothers; Harry and Edwin and several nieces and nephews.  A service to celebrate Arthur's life will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, April 28, 2023, at the Sarasota National Cemetery with Military Honors by the United States Navy Honor Guard.
