Alfred Ehlers, 89, of Lake Placid passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family on November 6, 2019. He is survived by Jean, his wife of 67 years; a sister, Johanna Blake of Monee, IL; 2 sons – Bruce and his wife Alice of Lake Placid and Michael and his wife Janine of Inwood, NY. Grandchildren include Amanda and husband Matthew Hugelmann of Colorado Springs, CO, Erin and husband Justin Pereira of Melbourne, FL and Shannon Ehlers of Inwood, NY, along with 2 great granddaughters – Oakley and Elijah. He also leaves nieces and nephews across the country. Alfred served in the Army from 1949 – 1952. A memorial service is planned for a later time.
