Alexina Claire Crovella, 82, of Lake Placid, has gone to join her husband, Albert, in heaven. She is survived by her 7 loving daughters, son-in-laws, 10 grandchildren and spouses and 6 great grandchildren. Alexina touched countless lives during her nursing career that spanned five decades. Her last 25 years in nursing was spent at the VA Hospital in Miami working with drug and alcohol addicted veterans, many of whom called her "Mom". Alexina was a strong, loving woman of great faith and principle who instilled her values and spirit in all her children. She took great pride in the individual achievements of her girls, her son-in-laws and her grand and great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial, to celebrate Mrs. Crovella's life, will be held 2:00 PM Friday December 16th 2011 at the St. James Catholic Church, 3380 Placid View Drive, Lake Placid with Fr. Michael Cannon celebrating. Internment will follow at the Oak Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Alexina's memory may be made to the Good Shepherd Hospice, 1110 Hammock Road, Sebring, FL 33872. Cremation arrangements entrusted to the Scott Funeral Home, Lake Placid, 465-4134.
