Alan Kory Anderson, 44, of Lake Placid went home to be with his Lord on Wednesday, April 22, 2026. Kory was a native Floridian who was born in Naples, FL on August 11, 1981. He is the son of Holly K. (Holtz) and Alan K. Anderson. Kory has been a resident of Sebring/Lake Placid for the last nine years, moving here from Lehigh Acres, Florida. He served his country honorably in the United States Air Force as a firefighter at MacDill AFB. Kory was currently working for NASCAR at the local Sebring racetrack and loved his job and the people he met along the way. Kory attended the Veterans Cowboy Church. He enjoyed renovating homes and following his favorite NASCAR Team and driver Ross Chastain each week. Kory is preceded in death by his loving father, Alan, maternal grandparents; Jack and Joyce Holtz, paternal grandparents; Alvin and Doreen Anderson, and cousin; Dionne Underwood. He is survived by his loving mother and stepfather; Holly K. and Edward Waszak, brother; Aaron Kelly Anderson (Kelly Barchers), niece Taylor Marie Anderson, of Ft. Myers, Florida; step-brother; Michael Waszak, and family of Texas, step-paternal grandparents; Stanley and Carol Waszak, aunt; Jackie Graham and family of OK, step-children; Aysia and Aiden Lyons, step-grandson; Airu Lyons, of Osaka, Japan, aunt and uncle; Gene and Rhonda Peck, and the Underwood family of Boonville, NY; cousin Dawne Thorne and family of Ramona, CA. A service to celebrate Kory’s life will be held 11:00 AM, Friday May 8, 2026, at the Scott Funeral Home, 504 W. Interlake Blvd., Lake Placid with Erik Anderson officiating. A presentation by Chief Billy Kingston representing NASCAR track safety team and military honors presented by the VFW Post 4300 Honor Guard.
